Out Bound Ships Leaving USA Data

I did the normal thing for me. I went to Google and asked the question. Here is what I received as an answer.

  1. outbound ships passenger lists sailing from USA and Canada

    www.olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/outbound/
Neither U.S. A. nor Canada maintained outbound ships passenger lists. ... transcribeships passenger lists leaving USA, bound for Europe and United Kingdom.

See I kept saying I did  talk long ago on this and I knew there were sites that could cough up
    some information.

    1. Ships Passenger Lists from Canada & USA

      thegenealogyspot.com/ShipsLists-Online/outbound/index.shtml
ShipsListsOnline is pleased to announce a new project to transcribe ships passenger lists leaving USA, bound for Europe and United Kingdom. Many of these  ...

mixed bag here but one never knows.

This is very exciting  to see there are more than two to dig into and hunt around.

Now I can tell you this page that came up has tons more information but it deals a lot with
      ships leaving specific Countries.

      Enjoy your hunting.

Important News Indiana State Library Update

A great acquaintance of mine Judy G. Russell, JD, CG, CGL The Legal Genealogist ,

wrote this article today to let us know what is  happening to yet again another Library. A State Library.
you would think they would learn.  With her permission I am posting for you to go to her site and the site Indiana Genealogical Society and learn more.

Will you join The Legal Genealogist in speaking out against a proposal to kill the Genealogy Department at the Indiana State Library?
Word arrived yesterday from the Indiana Genealogical Society that the budget bill introduced in the Indiana House includes a massive 24% reduction in funding to the Indiana State Library.
PLEASE HELP SAVE ANOTHER LIBRARY,  AND SHARE THIS WITH OTHERS.

WE NEED TO GET THE WORD OUT. PASS IT ON.

Thank You,
Susi Pentico

Mentioning Blogs, Have you tried THEINDEPTHGENEALOGIST.COM

MENTIONING BLOGS.........

Out in the world of genealogy we have some really neat places to garner information.
This is one I follow and these are the people who control it.

Jennifer Alford, Shannon Combs-Bennett, Terri O'Connell

I chose this blog because it picks up the top ten blog posts that people have really learned and enjoyed from.
I wrote one article for them so long ago I can' t remember the year.

IDG's Top 10 Posts of 2014 - The In-Depth GenealogistThe In-Depth Genealogist

The top posts they found were written by :  Christine Woodcock, Jacky Gamble, Leslie Drwitz,
Terri O'Connell, Shannon Combs-Bennett and Michelle Goodrum.

The topics are of interest to almost all researchers:  Christine W does awesome things with Scottish Research, Terri I have known a very long time.  Suspect they are all well known in their region and I enjoyed their posts.

Enjoy and join if their information is helpful to you.

With so many blogs out there about two years ago I started being more selective.  They are one I have selected.

Results of Workshop

Yes, there were results from the Wild Apricot workshop.

1. Major struggles to get logged in by many.  Finally mastered I think by all.

2. 14 or 15 in attendance.  Large enough for working with new program.

3.  It has a lot of potential for our members for assistance in asking questions and requesting answers.

4.  Library had a few gliches maybe with internet, I am not techie there.  But presentation was delayed for  about 20 minutes.

5.   I see where we will need this workshop again by March I suspect for more people to learn how to work the system.   Feed back here please. Thanks.

6.   We have an ability to have a photo display area, a research area information, hope to get the forms from old system to new for charts and forms.

7.  Those whom attended if you will let me know if you want to do this again or need more help let us know.  Amazing that even those proficient struggled at times.

8.  Thanks for coming.

9. Bonita-Sunnyside Library thanks for having us.

10.  Welcome to Margaret who was very interested in our societies programs and hopes to bring a friend to our next meeting.

Blessed Happy New Year.
